The real thing

Almost the entire third day consists of developing valuable software for customers. In this module, all subjects the from the past two days will be applied. The participants will be coached in their application. In a very short time frame participants deliver real, working software and reflect on their process.

We use an application that has been developed specifically for this training course. Participants can quickly add running functionality. without the feeling of working on an ‘over-simplified exercise that is never going to map to the “real world” ‘. You will add new functionality, in a new team, in a program language you (probably) don’t know yet, in a new application domain and development environment… This is challenging, but not as impossible as it sounds! Through appropriate guidance by the trainers, intense collaboration in your team and cleverly using what you’ve learnt in the past couple of days there is more possible than you would expect…

Evaluation

We close every day with a retrospective. We explain how a retrospective works, and how you can apply them in you day-to-day work. At the end of the three days, we host an extensive evaluation of the course, to see what you have learnt, what we do well, and what we can improve in the future.

Based on these evaluations, we develop the course itself iteratively and incrementally. We practice what we preach and chose a pragmatic, Agile based approach to develop the course.  Based on the feedback we get, we improve the parts that attract most suggestions for improvement and leave the parts that work well alone.
